Reverie

Sometimes as I sit
I fall into a reverie,
Seeing my darkened past
As ever-widening circles
In an imaginary day-dream.

I fall like a stone

Into the lake of your existence,
While you in incessant chatter
Take refuge in idle words;
Escaping from yourself
With ululating sorrow
You wait anxiously for night.

I fall like a tear in your eye.
